Short Biography
Kimie Nakano – Set and Costume Designer
Kimie Nakano studied literature at Musashino University in Tokyo, theatre costume at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre in Paris and a theatre design MA at Wimbledon College of Art in London.
In 2023 Kimie won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Costume Design for My Neighbour Totoro for the RSC at the Barbican
set and costume design for dance including M-Dao (English National Ballet ):Yabin Wang.
